Finding Common Ground Mediation and Law Services

Legal Services

Melinda Levy is a 25+ year attorney who dedicates her practice to helping her clients make informed decisions about their divorce. Her dedication is a direct result of having felt overwhelmed by her own prospect of being divorced. She has sat in her client's chair and now successfully coparents two boys. Melinda's approach is client- and child-centric. She also litigated family law cases and believes mediation is a healthier way to navigate this important life transition. As a mediator, Melinda studied with Steven Rosenberg, Woody Mosten, Susan Guthrie and Dr. Claire Fowler. As a Certified Co-Parenting Specialist, she helps parents successfully migrate from their marital relationship to their co-parenting relationship. Melinda also has training as a Parenting Plan Evaluator and in Collaborative Law with Hal Bartholomew. She litigated family law cases and finds mediation affords a softer landing from the marriage. In addition, Melinda held leadership positions with FedEx and The Niello Company, always with a focus on customer service. As a result, Melinda is committed to being responsive to her client's questions and requests,. Melinda offers free consultations and flexible hours to accommodate busy schedules, both of which are important during the challenging times of divorce. Melinda further supports her clients with her vast network of professionals, including Certified Divorce Coaches, CPA's, financial advisors, realtors, mortgage brokers, and career counselors. Melinda is the proud parent of two boys, enjoys a good laugh, loves live music and all things New Orleans. She serves as a Trustee on the Sacramento Country Day School Board. In fact, Melinda loves LOVE and has officiated 6 marriages. Melinda is not a divorce proponent, but rather, she is an advocate for a sane process when divorce is the necessary and healthiest choice.
